The Musée Cernuschi, founded in 1898, is one of the oldest museums of Paris. It is the only municipal museum in France which exhibits high-level Asian art and the 2nd most important Asian art museum in France, and 5th most important in Europe.

The Museum is home to some 12,000 Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese and Korean works of art. As an authoritative source of information on the art and architecture of ancient China, Musée Cernuschi also offers a unique insight into the Far East through the artistic exchanges linking China to Japan, Korea, and Vietnam.

Furthermore, with Asia’s art scenes currently in a state of ferment, the Musée Cernuschi also provides an approach to contemporary artists and their work informed by close knowledge of the cultural context.
